Answer:
In October of 1929, a worldwide depression began. Depression is a severe economic downturn that forces businesses to decrease production and lay off workers. Germany felt the effects of the depression almost immediately. By 1932, 6 million Germans were unemployed in a nation of about 60 million people. Among them were Lea Langer Grundig, who was a Communist, and her husband, Hans. Like other job seekers, they stood in long lines at labor exchanges day after day:
The miserable years of unemployment colored everyone the same shade of gray. Work qualifications, special abilities, skills, and knowledge based on experience—these were all as outmoded as vanished snow. The radiance and color of particular occupations were lost in the gray of welfare misery. Endless conversations, discussions, resigned grumbling and cursing, simple, childish hopeful chatter, political arguments—all this was woven into the never-ending talk of those standing in line.
Unemployment became a tragedy for many. Not only because of the poverty that mutely sat at their table at all times. Not working, doing nothing, producing nothing—work that not only provided food, but also, despite all the harassment and drudgery, was satisfying, developed skills, and stimulated thinking; work, a human need—it was not available; and wherever it was lacking, decay, malaise, and despair set in. . . .
The grim poverty, the hopelessness, and the laws governing the crisis that was incomprehensible for many, all made people ripe for “miracles.” Sects shot out of the ground. Diviners of the stars or coffee grounds, palm readers, graphologists, speculators and swindlers, clairvoyants, and miracle workers had a great time; they reaped rich harvests among the poor, who along with their poverty and idleness fell prey to foolishness
Complete the following for each sentence below:
Step 1: Put parentheses around all.of the prepositional phrases. Be sure to start with the preposition itself and then include the word or words that go with it. Remember that the subject and the predicate of a clause will NOT be found in a prepositional phrase.
Step 2: Highlight (using the Microsoft Word function) any dependent clauses. Some sentences have more than one. The best way to begin is to look for the dependent words (when, since, that, because, after..) and be sure they are followed by subjects and verbs.
Step 3: Make the subjects bold and underline the simple predicates in BOTH the independent and dependent clauses.
Example: Before she established her apiary, Tanesha learned what kinds (of flowers) grew (in the area).
1) When the dog started barking at the front door, Boris knew that his package had arrived.

Features of Dystopian fiction in the hunger games chapter 1
Examples of event which took place or concept and that made it dystopian ?
Please I need help
Hello there! :D
Today, I want you to get a rounded idea of what a Dystopian fiction is and some of the features of it that relate to The Hunger Games. I will not be giving you a direct answer that you can copy and paste, I would rather help you learn how to find this information and how to relate it back to concepts and ideas!
Let's take a look at the definition of a Dystopian. A Dystopian story line is one that relates or denotes to a society or state (imagined) where there are great sufferings and injustices. You can find this definition on google, a simple search. These tend to focus on social issues! One example of a Dystopian I loved in middle school is the Lunar Chronicles, so if you want to read up on some Dystopian books, that is a great series to read.
I will not be reading the first chapter of the Hunger Games, but I can help you connect general ideas of the book with the idea of a Dystopian storyline. What are some social issues/ great injustices you can see early in the book?
- There is a seperation of a nation that once was united, the 13 districts.
- A game takes place where one teenager from each district has to kill other teenagers to live and provide for their family and district (injustice).
-In the community of district 12, (where Katniss is) you hear a lot of descriptive words relating to poverty, maltreatment, and overall negative people.
-Social hierarchy. Disctrict 1 (the Capital) lives in luxury while the rest of the districts do not.
-District 13 was destroyed because it revolted against the Capital.
I would suggest to read the first chapter, watch a couple videos talking about the book, and read some lengthy reviews on the book as well. You can find all these things relatively easily. Remember, you are more capable then you think and you got this!
I hope this helped you and you have a wonderful day,
Kai xx

His family prefers the focus be on the way he lived, not how he died. And many Puerto Ricans have moved on.

In the space below write an essay in response to one of the following questions:
What sins are punished most severely and why?
Or what does Inferno indicate about medieval values?
You must also respond to this question: Do you agree with Dante’s hierarchy of Hell? Why or why not?
Dante's Inferno is one of the most significant pieces of literature in Western history, and it provides a snapshot of medieval values. This essay will discuss what Dante's Inferno indicates about medieval values and whether or not Dante's hierarchy of Hell is acceptable or not.
This essay will also discuss what sins are punished most severely and why.In Dante's Inferno, there is a hierarchy of Hell. The concept of a hierarchy of Hell was typical in the medieval world, where it was thought that there was a clear-cut moral code that dictated which sins were worse than others.
Dante's Hell has nine circles, each one reserved for those who have committed a specific sin. The further down one goes into the circles of Hell, the more severe the sin is considered to be. For example, the first circle of Hell is reserved for those who have lived virtuously but were not Christian, while the ninth circle is for those who committed the most severe sins.
Dante's hierarchy of Hell is acceptable to a certain extent. He believed that the sins that were most severely punished were those that were the most destructive to society. For example, the sin of treachery is punished the most severely, as it is the most destructive of all sins.
This is because it involves betrayal, which is the most harmful thing a person can do to another individual. Dante's hierarchy of Hell reflects the medieval belief that some sins were worse than others, and that these sins deserved a more severe punishment.
In Dante's Inferno, the sins that are punished most severely are those that are considered to be the most destructive to society. For example, the sin of treachery is punished the most severely, as it is the most destructive of all sins. Other sins that are punished severely in Dante's Hell include usury, fraud, and murder.
These sins are considered to be severe because they involve harming others or breaking societal rules. Dante's Inferno indicates that medieval values were centered around the idea that society must be preserved at all costs, and that those who broke this social contract must be punished severely.
In conclusion, Dante's Inferno indicates that medieval values were centered around preserving society at all costs. Dante's hierarchy of Hell is acceptable to a certain extent because it reflects the medieval belief that some sins were worse than others.
However, it is not entirely acceptable because it assumes that there is a clear-cut moral code that dictates which sins are worse than others.

Statistic I find most surprising: 175,000,000 people visit the zoo annually.
I find this statistic the most interesting. Combined with the fact that there are 142 accredited zoos, this is quite fascinating. With what feels like so few zoos, I would have expected there to be less people going to the zoo that often.
On the other hand, every time I have visited the zoo it has been full of people. Based on the zoo closest to me I would think that in each day there would be a couple hundred people visiting per day. However, with so few zoos, it's incredible how the zoos seem to attract so many of us yearly.
Write an introduction to the argumentative essay that establishs and introduces a clear claim about eletric cars
Answer:
Electric cars are rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, with many people making the switch in order to reduce their carbon footprint and minimize the environmental impact of their transportation. However, the transition to electric cars is not without controversy, with many people questioning their cost, practicality, and long-term sustainability. In this argumentative essay, I will make the case that electric cars are the future of transportation and that the benefits they offer far outweigh any potential drawbacks. I will argue that with advances in technology and increased investment in infrastructure, electric cars are becoming more accessible and practical for the average consumer, and that they represent a crucial step towards a more sustainable future. The central claim of this essay is that the widespread adoption of electric cars is essential for the health of our planet and for the well-being of future generations.
